The Power of Questions

Did you know that you can change your mindset by changing the questions you ask?

The quality of your life is created by your attitude, and that is caused by the thoughts you think.

Life can throw you many problems that upset you, and many challenges that excite you, and how you handle these situations depends mainly on your way of thinking.

But how do you change your way of thinking?

In order to change your way of thinking, you first have to change your frame of reference. When you look at things from a different angle, you will see a whole different picture. For instance, when you were first learning to tie your shoes, you can see it from several different frames:

One frame of reference is to mess up the laces and focus on the fact that you failed to tie your shoes. You can’t tie your shoes. That will present a certain way of thinking.

On the other hand you could be thinking that you are learning to tie your shoes. Eventually, with practice, you will be able to tie your shoes. This will give you a much different way of thinking.

When you change your frame of reference you change your way of thinking.

One powerful way to quickly alter your way of thinking is to ask different questions. Your mind is used to answering questions all the time. The brain is so powerful that it will answer any question you ask, even if it doesn’t have the right answer yet.

If you are always asking “What’s wrong with me?” your mind will give you an answer, even if there is nothing really wrong with you!

Our brain is the most powerful computer on the planet ! The only problem is that it was not provided with an instruction manual, and our brain is not very easy to handle. Questions are very powerful input devices that gets directly into the power of your brain. Those who ask intelligent questions are considered the geniuses in our culture. It is important to never stop asking questions consciously.

Here are some awesome ways of question asking to get to a better way of thinking.

Ask questions that will get you the answers you want and make you feel the way you want to feel.

Ask questions that motivate you into action and give you control over the result.

Ask questions that focus on solutions, rather than problems.

Avoid asking why when you are looking at a negative situation. This amplifies your negative emotions.

Always ask why when you are thinking about positive outcomes or experiences. This amplifies your positive emotions.

When you are experiencing negative results or outcomes, ask solution oriented questions.

Never ask questions that focus on the problem or make you feel out of control or helpless.

Ask the right questions repeatedly.

Ask questions intensely with a positive expectation of an answer.

If you want a change, ask questions with the same emotion as the result you want.

For a revolutionary result, you ask revolutionary questions.

For a loving result, you ask loving questions.

For a powerful result, you ask powerful questions.

Ask questions from different points of view:

What is possible or necessary

Can we get to an agreement or not

Should I focus on myself or others

Should I focus inward or outward

Should I be detail oriented or looking at the big picture

Am I pleasure seeking or pain avoiding

What is the time frame we are dealing with here – the past, the present or the future

You can use the following questions any time to get your mindset focused in a more empowering direction, and it will also get you to feel great as you do so! For that reason it is a great idea to ask yourself these questions at the beginning of your day.

You might notice that there are three questions in each set. The first question will give you a general belief answer. The second provides details that are supporting that belief. The third changes the answers to feelings, that can serve you all day.

Use problem solving questions when a problem comes up in your life that seem to difficult to handle, or when you are having trouble in solving them quickly. These questions can help you change your mental condition, as well as access the resources you need to handle the problem powerfully.

What is not perfect yet?

The art of asking questions in not new, famous people like Socrates and Einstein have been doing this in order to find the most ingenious answers to their challenges. And obviously with success. So when you wish to change your life for the better and get better results to your challenges in life, keep this in mind and be mindful about the kind of questions you ask yourself.
