Tapping on Procrastination

It was only about a year ago that we wrote another blog on procrastination, this was in the beginning of July 2019. And now here we are again. But this time I want you to do something about it.

Procrastination is something that about 20% of the population is suffering from and these are only the official numbers. I guess that there are a lot more than that, but they might never admit to it. But procrastination is costing a lot of people a lot of money and peace of mind.

If you are one of them you might want to try out this tapping. And don’t just do it once, but keep this up for 21 days and your life could really change.

KP = Karate Point

EB = Eyebrow

SE = Side of the Eye

UE = Under the Eye

UN = Under the Nose

CH = on your Chin

CB = Collar Bone

UA = Under the Arm

TH = Top of the Head

 

Now rate how true the following 2 statements feel on a scale from 1 to 10:

– I am not getting the most important things done.

– I am spinning my wheels, I am doing busy work, and I am procrastinating.

Then think about a goal that you are trying to achieve.

 

Set-up phrase:

KP – Even though I feel overwhelmed and I am procrastinating, I choose to love and accept myself just as I am.

Even though I am procrastinating and not taking the action I should, I choose to love and accept myself just as I am.

Even though I feel overwhelmed by the actions I am supposed to take, I choose to love and accept myself just as I am.

 

EB –    I am really having trouble getting started

SE –    I feel overwhelmed

UE –    I am either zoning out

UN –    or I am doing, doing, doing

CH –    being busy, busy, busy…

CB –    but it is mostly distraction

UA –    and by avoiding what I need to do

TH –     I am not getting to the important things

 

EB –    It does make me feel better

SE –    knowing that it happens to a lot of people

UE –    but I need to get more done

UN –    and I am just going to honour that

CH –    I am spinning in my mind-state

CB –    there is anxiety running through my system

UA –    it is hard to relax

TH –     and I am hardly even aware of it

 

EB –    there is anxiety blasting through my system

SE –    my body is filled with nervous energy

UE –    and I am not getting the important things done

UN –     and I am hardy aware of it

CH –    because I am not really in my body

CB –    I am up in my head

UA –    because there is so much to think about

TH –     thinking, thinking, thinking

 

EB –    thinking, thinking, thinking

SE –    and then I would stop to criticise myself

UE –    I should be getting more done

UN –    thinking, thinking, thinking

CH –    spinning and thinking

CB –    it is OK

UA –    I am taking on a lot

TH –     I am open to coming down

 

EB –    coming down into my body

SE –    and looking at my goals

UE –    and the very next thing I have to do

UN –    just the very next thing

CH –    I am open to being solid about that

CB –    just getting started

UA –    and I can do it step by step

TH –     I am open to being solid

 

EB –    and getting started

SE –    so I can see a chunk of progress

UE –    that feels solid

UN –    and I will celebrate

CH –    that solid chunk of progress

CB –    on each step I take

UA –    I do not have to do it all at once

TH –    I can celebrate each step towards my goal

 

Now take a deep breath, and let it go.

The next thing is about taking action in order to achieve your goal

KP –    Even though I am not taking action, I really do love and accept myself as   I am

Even though I am not taking action, I choose to love and forgive myself

Even though I am not taking action, I deeply and completely love, forgive and accept myself and anyone else who might be involved in this.

 

EB –    I am not taking action

SE –    I am not taking action right now

UE –    I am not feeling motivated

UN –    I am feeling like procrastinating

CH –    I have my reasons

CB –    for not taking action

UA –    I am not being lazy

TH –     I have many reasons for not taking action

 

EB –    but I choose to take action

SE –    I choose to take action right now

UE –    I choose to feel motivated now

UN –     so I am clearing the procrastination

CH –    clearing it out on a cellular level

CB –    all these things that stop me

UA –    all these things that block me

TH –     all these reasons for not taking action

 

EB –    I am not taking action

SE –    I have got my reasons for not taking action

UE –    It is not just that I am lazy

UN –     there is something that is holding me back

CH –    something telling me

CB –    that I would be better off not taking action

UA –    and I choose to let go of those blocks

TH –     if there is a really good reason

 

EB –    for not taking a particular action

SE –    I choose to be clear about that

UE –    and I choose to clear anything that is not a good reason

UN –    but for motivation to occur

CH –    I need 2 things

CB –    1. I have to believe that I can do the thing

UA –     so I am clearing my doubts

TH –     clearing all these doubts

 

EB –    about the fact that what I want to do

SE –    is possible

UE –    because I can do it

UN –     I know it is possible

CH –    I am clearing the doubts

CB –    and the 2nd thing I need for motivation

UA –    is for the perceived benefit

TH –     to outweigh the perceived cost

 

EB –    I am clearing the belief that there is a cost

SE –    clearing the fear of the cost

UE –    all this fear of taking action

UN –    all this feeling

CH –    that I just do not want to do it

CB –    that it is going to be hard

UA –    all this fear that it is going to be really hard

TH –     that it is going to cost too much

 

EB –    I choose to enhance

SE –    the perceived benefit of taking action

UE –    I choose to want to do this

UN –    I choose to know

CH –    that it is really going to benefit me

CB –    I choose to think about those benefits

UA –    I choose to feel right now

TH –     how good it is going to feel to take action

 

EB –    how good it is going to feel to get those benefits

SE –    it is going to feel really good

UE –    I choose to feel really good right now

UN –     which gives me more energy to take action

CH –    I am getting it done

CB –    I am clearing all the procrastination

UA –    clearing all the reasons for putting it off

TH –     I have put it off long enough

 

EB –    the time to take action is now

SE –    I am getting it done today

UE –    I am seizing the day

UN –    carpe diem

CH –    today is the day

CB –    now is the time

UA –    no time like the present

TH –     I am allowing myself to be aware

 

EB –    aware of any remaining resistance

SE –    and I forgive myself for that resistance

UE –    it is not just that I am lazy

UN –    I am now clearing this belief that I am lazy

CH –    clearing it all the way back through my history

CB –    any resistance that I am feeling

UA –    is old programmed resistance

TH –     I forgive myself for having it

 

EB –    and now I am letting it go

SE –    letting it go

UE –    I thought I needed it

UN –    part of me thought it was keeping me safe

CH –    I am allowing myself to see the truth now

CB –    I am releasing the perceived cost

UA –    allowing myself to embrace the perceived benefits

TH –     allowing myself to feel really motivated

 

EB –    I am clearing the doubt that I have the energy

SE –    because everything is energy

UE –    I am completely made up of energy

UN –    I have more than enough energy

CH –    I have what it takes to take action

CB –    I am giving myself the freedom to take action

UA –    I am allowing myself to feel very motivated

TH –     in body mind and spirit

 

Now take a deep breath, and let it go.

Now I want you to focus on the desired results and take full responsibility for your own well being and think about something you would like to achieve and how willing you are to do what it takes.

 

KP –     I choose to focus on the results I want and I choose to love and accept  myself just as I am

I choose to focus on the results I want and I choose to be excited about them, I choose to know that I deserve them, I choose to know that I can have them, there may be some things I need to do to get them and I am willing to do what it takes

I choose to focus on the results I want and I choose to deeply and completely love, honour and accept myself just as I am, and anyone else          who might be involved

 

EB –    I choose to focus on the results I want

SE –    I choose to be excited about them

UE –    I choose to know that I deserve them

UN –    I choose to know that I can have them

CH –    there may be some things I need to do to get them

CB –    but I am willing to do what it takes

UA –    to get my desired results

TH –     even when I now think that could be hard

 

EB –    I am focussing on the results I want

SE –    I am allowing myself to focus on the results I want

UE –    and I am clearing the resistance to getting those results

UN –    I choose to be willing to do what it takes

CH –    and part of me might have some resistance there

CB –    but I am going to have to do things I do not like to do

UA –    and I choose to clear that resistance now

TH –     because I deserve the results I want

 

EB –    and I am willing to do what it takes to get them

SE –    I am focussing on the results that I want

UE –    I am allowing myself to get excited about those results

UN –    I choose to imagine achieving those results

CH –    I choose to visualise this success

CB –    and I allow myself to feel what I imagine what it would feel like

UA –    I choose to let myself already feel that good

TH –     I choose to feel the success right now

 

EB –    and that helps to motivate me

SE –    it makes what seems unpleasant

UE –    much more worth while

UN –    the more I focus on the results

CH –    the easier it becomes to do what it takes

CB –    and I discover more and more

UA –    that I have what it takes

TH –     maybe I settled for lesser results

 

EB –    because I thought myself capable

SE –    of only lesser actions

UE –    I choose to have more faith in myself

UN –    I can do what it takes

CH –    and I am setting myself free to do so

CB –    I am clearing the resistance

UA –    and I am moving forward

TH –     in body mind and spirit

 

Take a deep breath

And then again rate how true the following 2 statements feel on a scale from 1 to 10:

– I am not getting the most important things done.

– I am spinning my wheels, I am doing busy work, and I am procrastinating.

When the scores are lower than a 3 now, you are all-right, but you can still try to get them to a 1 by just repeating this tapping for 21 days in order to really get the procrastination out of your system. Have fun.
